Closure: Cork

The 1997 vintage was an earlier vintage than 1996 with a slightly increased yield, up from 3 tonnes per acre to 4, and as a result, the wine does not have quite the some degree of concentration and depth as the 1996 - but we must emphasise we're nit picking at this point.Vibrant crimson purple colour. Lifted blackberry nose, followed by earthy truffle end notes. The palate is filled with generous ripe fruit, but slightly leaner than the 1996 and will most likely cellar a little longer. Concentrated flavour of blackberries, blackpepper, liquorice and very ripe plums. Warm finish, fine, firm, yet balanced tannins, with earthy leather aftertaste. Cellar 8-10 years.
