1996 The Willows Vineyard Semillon

A superb example of aged Semillon. Produced from 60 year old Semillon vines and matured in new American oak. Brilliant, brassy gold colour. Magnificent nose displaying the full gamut of primary, secondary and tertiary aromas - toasted honey, green tea and lychee aromas fill the nose. The palate delivers a delightful essay of flavours, combining the toasted honey flavours of bottle age, with mouthfilling grassy tropical fruit and vanilla spice flavour - yet finishing quite dry. Excellent length and complexity, finishing with very long, toasted honey, green tea aftertaste. Drinking beautifully now, or cellar a further 2-3 years.
