1996 Morris Rutherglen Shiraz

A perfect example of a balanced North East Victorian Shiraz, where weight, depth of flavour and tannins are all integrated into a harmonious rich Rutherglen Red. Opaque crimson colour with deep mauve edges. Generous, aromatic notes, almost perfect (which comes as a surprise) with aromas of spicy ripe plums and blackberries. The palate matches the expectation of the nose with lots of ripe fruit flavours. Blackberry, ripe plum and stewed fruits are enhanced by vanillin oak and spice. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance and long liquorice plum aftertaste. Cellar 5-10 years.
