Notes sourced from McWilliam’s Wines.

The Lovedale Vineyard is Mount Pleasant’s top Semillon vineyard. The vineyard was purchased by Maurice O’Shea from the Love Family just before WWII. From the mid 1950’s to 1980 Lovedale Semillon was known as Anne Riseling, but from 1980 the name reverted to Lovedale Semillon and is released in exceptional years only.Good rainfall over the spring period ensured an even budburst and strong growth while cooler temperatures over the ripening season enabled the development of complex flavours and delicate fruit. The grapes were hand-picked in February, de-stemmed and the must chilled for 48 hours while settling. The clear juice was fermented slowly at cool temperatures to retain the delicate fruit flavours. The wine was blended, filtered and stabilised after 1 month and bottled in July 1996.Pale straw with green hues. Limes, sherbet, toast and slight herbal honey aromas. Classic Lovedale – abundant lime and lemon with underlying honeyed-toast flavours encompassed in a delicate acid framework. Finesse and length of flavour are a hallmark of this wine. Cellar 10-15 years under the appropriate conditions Alcohol by volume: 10.5%
