Colin Glaetzer is responsible for some of Australia's top reds, having worked with Barossa Valley Estate when he was at his peak producing the formidable E&E and Ebenezer Wines. The fruit for this wine was grown in the Ebenezer District, North West Barossa Valley, from 70-80 year old non-irrigated vines. An outstanding wine - monumental in its rich fruit structure and reflecting a generosity of the flavour that is the ultimate expression of the Barossa Valley. Opaque crimson mauve colour. The nose is a powerhouse. Aromas of earthy plums, spice, vanilla and leather. A wonderful counterpoint of traditional Barossa and contemporary winemaking skills. The palate is generous, mouthfilling, with strong flavours of spice, vanilla, very ripe plums, blackberries leather and earth, to finally finish with an incredibly persistent blackpepper back palate which carries the wine through to an exceptionally long aftertaste. A very complex wine with excellent concentration and in perfect harmony enhanced by a hint of mint and chocolate on the finish, which couples with some liquorice end flavours to produce an exceptional red. Cellar 8-10 years. STOCKS ARE EXTREMELY LIMITED
