1996 Dalwhinnie Moonambel Cabernets

The 1996 growing season was one of the coolest on record. This cool slow ripening period allowed the fruit to reach optimum ripeness and has resulted in a classic Dalwhinnie Cabernet. The wine was matured in small French oak barrels.Dark, shiny purple black colour. On the nose there are aromas of blackcurrant, spice, cedar and herbaceous characters. The palate displays rich chocolate, blackcurrant fruit followed by a firm tannin structure. A very elegant wine, although still very tight with a long dry finish. Cellar up to 10 years. 13.5% Alcohol Volume.
