This 38 hectare vineyard is one of the oldest Estates in the Medoc. The soil consists of Pyrenees gravel over limestone bedrock. The vineyard is planted to 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Average age of vines is 25 years. Deep crimson colour, with mauve edges. Excellent nose of confectionery spice, cedar, violets and blackcurrant. Impressive palate flavours with earthy truffles merged into a cedar and spice background. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance, followed by a long earthy spice and toasted oak aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years.
