The 1995 Vintage has been heralded as one of the best on record in Margaret River. The prolonged growing season and dry vintage conditions, produced superb ripe fruit of great concentration and flavour. The 1995 Voyager Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot, one of the most talked about wines at Wine Australia, is in high demand already and it's not hard to understand why. Next years 1997 Cabernet releases from some top Margaret River producers are set to break the $80 a bottle mark. Opaque dark crimson colour, with dark mauve edges. The nose clearly demonstrates the concentration of the vintage - Generous aromas of blackcurrants, mulberries, dark chocolate, cedar and spice. The palate offers one of those sensational drinking experiences, where the fruit flavours totally encase the entire mouth and produce a flavour cling that lasts for many minutes. Flavours of ripe plums, blackberry and mulberry are perfectly interwoven into the toasty French oak, enhanced by spice and dark chocolate end palate flavours.
