1995 Trentham Estate Shiraz

Winemaker Tony Murphy, produces a very creative range of wines from his Trentham Cliffs Vineyard. Located on the N.S.W. side of the banks of the Murray River his quality is so good that he is often considered to be a Victorian producer. This is a super ripe wine (14% Alcohol Volume) and will appeal to lovers of heavy North East Victorian style reds - although the tannins are much softer. Opaque brick red colour. Ripe plum and stewed fruit aromas fill the nose with a hint of vanillin oak with a generous uplifted coffee aroma in the background. Very interesting! The palate reflects the ripe fruit flavours dominated by ripe plum fruits, and is supported by pronounced coffee, liquorice and dark chocolate flavours. Soft tannins and long coffee chocolate plum aftertaste. Cellar 3 - 4 years.
