1995 Howard Park Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Howard Parks reputation as a super premium wine producer has been enhanced with each successive vintage. Winemaker John Wade has stamped onto this wine his talented wine making skills to produce a red in the new generation of winemaking aristocrats.Opaque deep crimson, brick red colour. The nose is superb and indicates a wine of great style and depth. Deep penetrating aromas of wonderfully rich ripe fruit, ripe blackcurrants, cedar, spice, dark chocolate and liquorice all sorts. The palate displays that rare explosion of totally encompassing flavour - no one taste cell is left wanting! Magnificent concentration of ripe blackcurrants, plums, liquorice, toasted oak, vanilla and dark chocolate. Remarkable depth, yet despite the very ripe fruit flavours there is total harmony and balance. The quality of the oak used is exceptional and manifests itself with the exceptionally fine dry tannin structure. Cellar 5 - 8 years.
