1995 Douglas Laing & Co. Old Particular Single Cask Fettercairn 20 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

A blast from the past...many drinks under the bridge since we last stocked a Fettercairn. It makes a welcome return in this indie bottling from Douglas Laing. Like others from the Old Particular collection, this is non chill filtered and drawn from a single (x Bourbon?) hogshead. Distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2016 at high ABV. Expect aromas and flavours of barley sugar, zesty citrus, malt, vanilla custard and a tangy, fruity finish. 281 bottles produced.

Founded in 1824, Fettercairn is presently owned by Whyte & Mackay and represents one of their key blending resources, two others being Dalmore and Tamnavulin. We remember the brand being traditionally packaged and marketed as "Old Fettercairn", however since 2002, the bottle, name and packaging have changed. In 2010, the 12 Year Old which had been the core expression was scrapped in favour of the new "Fettercairn Fior" which is composed of 15% highly peated whisky.
