1995 Blue Pyrenees Estate Dry Red

An outstanding result for winemaker Vince Gere. Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Shiraz. Gere has used 50 different base wines in this blend, which greatly contribute to the complexity of the wine. Deep crimson colour. The nose displays great complexity with aromas of ripe plum, spice, mulberries, confectionary and a hint of vanilla. The palate displays considerable weight and depth of flavour with blackcurrants, mulberries, plum, vanilla and spice all making their presence felt. The tannin structure is a little firmer than the 1994 but it remains perfectly integrated with the fruit. Excellent balance and long plum, spice and confectionary aftertaste. Cellar 5 - 8 years.
