This wine has a degree of complexity and concentration offlavour that bear comparison with reds made from the quintet ofCabernet family grapes. It happens to be one of those years, where reduced crops and dry growing conditions have producedexceptional quality grapes. Opaque mauve purple colour. Thecolour is fantastic and with such intensity creates highexpectations of the nose and palate. The nose is superb andfilled with layers of fruit and complexities beyond the realmsof ordinary shiraz. Intense aromas of blackpepper, blackberries, ripe plums, mixed spice, cedar and vanilla. Superb. The palatedisplays weight and concentration of flavour with ripe plum, blackberry, aniseed, blackpepper and spice flavours filling thepalate - perfect balance with a hint of leather in thebackground - fine tannin structure and long peppery aftertaste.A class red, cellar 8 - 10 years. \Z
