The 1994 Coonawarra season began with above average summer rainfall and cool temperatures, followed by a warm, very dry autumn, which allowed an uninterrupted smooth vintage with grapes harvested at full maturity.Near perfect climatic conditions, modern viticultural management and the unique terra rossa soil of this famous vineyard in Australia's most acclaimed red wine region have provided all the ingredients for fruit of world class standard.A blend of 54% Shiraz and 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine was matured in new American oak barrels for 20 months. Excellent deep rich red colour, indicative of a wine of great depth and concentration. The nose displays rich ripe plum and black pepper shiraz aromas with mint like Cabernet overtones. The medium to full bodied palate has rich, intense Shiraz fruit, firm tannins and attractive fruit sweetness, giving the wine great length. The Cabernet has added firmness and enhanced the structure of the wine. Cellar up to 10 years. Winner of one trophy and four gold medals. 13.5% Alcohol Volume.
