1994 Henschke Eden Valley Museum Release Riesling

Grape Variety: 100% riesling grapes from Eden Valley and Keyneton.

Background: Riesling is the classic grape variety of Germany and one of the earliest varieties brought to South Australia. Cyril Henschke developed the Henschke reputation for riesling wines as early as the 1950’s from the vineyard areas of Eden Valley, Keyneton and Springton. These dry, food orientated wines were clean and crisp and would age to delicious marmalade on toast flavours, due to the cooler climate of the Eden Valley region. This area provides ideal ripening conditions for the Riesling grape.

Vintage Description: The Riesling was harvested at 12.5° Baume in mid April after a mild dry summer.

Tasting Notes: Golden green. Sweet, developed lime marmalade on toast. Full flavoured and rich. Intense palate with good length.

Cellaring Potential: Great vintage, drinking now.
Alcohol: 12.6%
