Since the first release of the Elderton Command Shiraz in 1984 this wine has built up an eviable reputation, the highlight being the 1992 vintage which was chosen by Robert Parker as one of the world's top 80 wines.Made from 100% old vine Barossa Shiraz between 50-60 years old on the Elderton Estate Vineyard. The wine was matured in American oak for 3 years and has spent a further 12 months in the bottle prior to release. Almost opaque colour. The nose displays powerful aromas of pepper and vanilla. The palate has excellent intensity and super ripe fruit with mouth filling flavours of dark chocolate, warm pepper fruit and sweet vanilla oak. Drink now or cellar a further 5 years. 14.5% Alcohol Volume.
