Tasting note: [15ml sample] Old Rhosdhu was the name (or one of the names) given to a particular style of single malt distilled at the versatile Loch Lomond distillery. Production ceased around the year 2000. During its lifetime, the entry level Rhosdhu was one of the cheapest singles on the market. Older versions have appreciated in value and received positive reviews. Variously described as "intriguing" and "pretty and appealing", after 25 years in a single Bourbon cask, this offers medium sweet, vibrant, grassy aromas while being super fresh, Summery and succulent in the mouth. The lightness and elegance associated with the label is clearly expressed. It's one of those rare malts that fizzes and sparkles and feels like it could go on ageing forever. A hidden gem for whisky boffins. 48.5% Alc./Vol. 360 bottles. Non chill filtered. Very limited stocks.

Notes from the bottlers... "...fruit, a touch of walnut, toasted oats, cereals, cedar and spice with medium length."
