1994 Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon

1994 was a near perfect year for Cabernet Sauvignon in Margaret River, the conditions allowed for an extended ripening period and produced fruit with good concentration at optimal ripeness. The fruit was sourced from some of Margaret Rivers oldest vines which were planted between 1970 and 1973. The wine was matured in a combination of Nevers, Allier and Troncais oak barrels for a period of 21 months.The wine is classic Bordeaux in style. On the nose there are aromas of blackberries, cedar, mint and coffee. The palate is multi-layered with concentrated ripe berry fruits and sweet cedary oak - silky smooth and powdery tannin finish. Cellar up to 15 years. 13.5% Alcohol Volume.
