1994 Adelphi Tobermory 18 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Isle of Mull, SCOTLAND
$235. 00
Bottle
$2820.00 Dozen
ABV: 58.8%
The tastings for the latest batch of Adelphis were limited to 20ml samples - just enough to paint the picture and recommend, but not enough to retaste and confirm our initial impressions. Generally speaking, they represent another first class selection of young and old malts from one of Scotland's top independent bottlers.

Tasting notes: Deep copper mahogany colour is striking by malt whisky standards. Opens with notes of salty cheese rind and walnuts. Intriguing. Aeration yields old coins, balsamic and beeswax. Mesmerisingly different. Keeps unfolding as more familiar malt whisky notes add richness - now choc-fudge, now dried fruits, now dusty drawers...the list goes on. Outstanding aromatic complexity. A creamy entry leads into a dryish, concentrated attack featuring Christmas cake flavours and a gingery burst. Pleasantly bittersweet. The momentarily demerara rum-like twist finishes the whisky in style. Terrific length. Tobermoray as you never would imagine it. 604 bottles produced. 58.8% Alc./Vol.
