1993 Petaluma Coonawarra Merlot

The wet spring of 1992 delayed harvest the following year, producing a cool vintage. 63% of the fruit was soured from the Sharefarmers vineyard, whilst 37% of the fruit is from Evans Vineyard in Coonawarra. The wine has spent two years in Allier oak. Medium body, brick red colour. Perfumed nose, very appealing, with aromas of plum, stewed fruits and spice, finishing with some leather end notes. The palate displays complexity and a more generous flavour with mulberry, leather and plum evident. Fine grained firmish tannins, followed by a long plum, spice aftertaste. Cellar up to 8 years.
