1993 Gordon & Macphail Connoisseurs Choice Bladnoch 22 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

One of six Lowland distilleries still in operation, Bladnoch is Scotland’s most southerly distillery, nestled on the green banks of the River Bladnoch from which it takes its name. Located in this beautifully remote area, the distillery has been producing off and on since 1817. It employs mainly unpeated malt from independent maltsters, though very occasionally will use medium peated malt (18ppm phenols), usually once a year. In recent times, the company operating Bladnoch went into liquidation. The distillery was subsequently purchased in 2015 by Australian entrepreneur, David Prior, quite possibly the first Australian to purchase a Scottish distillery!

This release from reputable independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail was distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2015 after maturation in refill American oak hogsheads. Natural colour and non-chill filtered.
