Everyone knows the contemporary side of Bruichladdich as progressive and highly innovative. This is a throwback to another era, pre Jim McEwan. Distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2016 at a natural strength of 53.3% and drawn from three bourbon hogsheads yielding 588 bottles. Official bottlings from this era and age fetch $500+, so the price is exceptional.

Importer, Graham Wright adds, "Something of an oddity and possibly a rarity as it comes from the era, where my sources state that this distillery, owned by Invergordon Distillers, was closed. Officially my sources state that Whyte & Mackay didn't take over the distillery until 1993 from Invergordon. So, distilled in 1992?!" Regardless, a bottle of liquid history awaits!

Mark Watt at Cadenheads describes this whisky's aromas and flavours: "Cinnamon, sultanas, flaked bananas and a creamy texture, with more citrus and a minty herbal note. Lemon juice, pineapple and a soft cinnamon finish."
