Seppelt Show Sparkling Shiraz has been made at the Seppelt Great Western Winery in Victoria for over a century. While there are other sparkling red wines made around the world, none bear resemblance to this shiraz-based wine style made in the methode champenoise tradition.
Even within Australia, our Show Sparkling Shiraz is the only one made using the same traditional methods of 100 years ago. Importantly, it is the ageing process that contributes significantly to the unique and special qualities of Show Sparkling Shiraz, resulting in superb fruit, oak and yeast integration with magnificent, complex maturation characters.
This multi award-winning wine is a classic Great Western Sparkling Shiraz that has spent nearly eight years on lees and is now ready for drinking. The very special Show Sparkling Shiraz is made in small quantities as a super premium wine for which Seppelt has become famous.

Matured in large oak vats for 16 months, this wine has then undergone secondary fermentation in the bottle, aged on its lees for six and a half years and disgorged in the methode champenoise tradition. Dark plum turning to brick red at the rim of the glass. A very complex and layered aroma redolent of ripe berries, leather and spice. The full flavoured palate has classic blackberry and chocolate flavours, a velvety mouthfeel from soft tannins and rich fruit sweetness. These flavours are of great length, finishing fresh and dry. The persistence of flavour on the palate highlights the richness and intensity of this wine.
