The name Ardmore derives from the Scotch Gaelic 'Ard moi' meaning 'Big Slope', a reference to the undulations of Aberdeenshire where the distillery stands.

This independent release from Gordon and Macphail was matured in first fill bourbon barrels, bottled at 57.3% ABV.

Producer Tasting Notes...
WITHOUT WATER
Aroma: Very fresh with tropical fruit notes and hints of toasted malt. A subtle touch of fire embers and ash linger. Hint of citrus emerges.
Taste: delicate touch of smoke - bonfire embers. Rich dark chocolate influences with a peppery edge.

WITH WATER
Aroma: Fresh - grass like. Sweet fudge notes with a subtle hint of mixed spices (Christmas cake).  
Taste: A burst of chilli spices - mouth warming. Ground pepper develops and becomes very fruity - ripe exotic fruits.
