Speyside, Highlands, SCOTLAND
$499.00 Bottle

The Glenfarclas Distillery, with over 52000 casks currently maturing in its traditional dunnage warehouses, is in the enviable position of having stock in cask from every year from 1952 to the current day. The Distillery formally launched 'The Family Casks', an exclusive collection of 43 vintage dated Single Cask Highland Malt Scotch Whiskies in September 2007 and since then the interest in the collection has been intense, with several collectors (and bars) quick to order a complete set.

Bottled on the 01.03.07 from Sherry Butt  5623 which yielded 624 bottles.

Notes from Glenfarclas...Colour? Smooth amber. Nose? Rich and delicious with essences of pears and toffee. This is a whisky that’s appetising to say the least. It’s rich in sherry but not in an overpowering way. Lightly roasted chestnuts with a chocolate dipping sauce spring immediately to mind. The texture is rich with a slight oily covering, giving you a very smooth silky coating to your entire mouth. The finish is big and powerful, with a lot of fruit berries and some lovely burnt chocolate.  Bottled 2007.
