Krug only produces its vintage champagne in an exceptional year. It is a matter of bringing out particular characteristics of one year, whilst maintaining the Krug taste. Between 1928 and 1982 Krug has only produced 25 vintages, all of which have become classics - the most famous being: 1928, 1947, 1953, 1955, 1969, 1976, 1982.The Krug family share the credit for this wine with the expression "Vintage Krug shares the compliment with God" - a rare piece of humility in the wine trade. Golden straw colour. The nose is delightful, reminiscent of flor yeast with biscuit flavours dominant. Creamy texture, with exceptional length and crisp acidity. Superb finesse and depth of flavour, with long toasty biscuit aftertaste.
