Glen Grant was one of the earliest distilleries to be made widely available as a single malt. Nowadays proprietary bottlings come from serial refill casks and are frankly somewhat anaemic, which is a shame. It’s a first class malt when properly handled.

In the past, Adelphi's extra-aged Glen Grants have demonstrated just how well these whiskies can hold up without loss of vitality, regularly receiving stellar scores from Jim Murray. Standard strength 40 year olds sell for upwards of $1000, so the price here for a nearly 30 year old all-natural expression is very, very tempting.

Distilled in 1988 and left to mature until 2018 when Adelphi bottled it at cask strength, producing just 429 bottles, the colour indicates some sherry input.
