1987 Adelphi Mortlach 26 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

A new extra aged Mortlach release from one of Scotland's top independent bottlers, Adelphi. This was distilled in 1987 and bottled in 2014 after maturation in a refill ex-sherry American oak cask. This bottling is from cask #3106 at 58.4% ABV.

Tasting note: Deep gold / polished brass appearance. A somewhat restrained aroma slowly teases out attractive scents of prunes, dates and raisin bread; lots of vanilla too. Rich and round in the mouth, perfectly balanced bitter/sweetness. Great length with the dried fruit, spice and late sweetness. Dries into the juicy vanilla / malt fade. Full-sherried Mortlach in great form. 57% Alc./Vol.
