1986 Signatory Vintage Glenturret 28 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

In over 40 years of selling rare and unusual spirits, this the second ever Glenturret to hit our shelves! Distilled in 1986 and bottled in 2015 from a hogshead of undisclosed provenance (likely Bourbon). 210 bottles were released at cask strength which after nearly three decades in barrel measured in at 46.1% Alc./Vol.

Glenturret, which claims to be one of Scotland's oldest distillerys, offers a number of official age statement bottlings which, to our knowledge, have not yet made it to Australia. Formerly known as Hosh, the distillery was renamed in 1875. The distillery was closed and dismantled in the 1920s upon Prohibition’s enactment, remaining closed until the late 1950s. The malt makes up a large component of the Famous Grouse blend, and more recently the distillery produced some batches of peated whisky for the Black Grouse. Undoubtedly a novelty - even for seasoned whisky lovers - Jim Murray described similar releases as "One for those looking for a very different dram".
