1986 Chateau d'Yquem Sauternes (375ml.)

1986 was a great vintage for Sauternes, rated 9/10 and the Chateau d’Yquem is a great expression of the vintage. Deep golden colour, with green hue. Superb nose, with aroma of honey, mandarin, loquot and spice emerging, followed by a spice and caramel end note. Totally mouthfilling as only d Yquem can be with its luscious rich concentration of flavour. Flavours of toffee, spice, prune and loquot. There is a hint of dried prune. Exceptional length. Perfect balance. Clean acid finish, followed by a very long aftertaste of spice, honey and toffee.
