1979 Delord Freres Tenareze Armagnac (700ml)

Armagnac, FRANCE
$150.00 Bottle
  • ABV 40%

Tenareze is a transitional Armagnac zone consisting of undulating slopes with heavy clay soils mixed with a chalky sandstone that gives an acidic wine and generally yields full flavoured, long lived Armagnacs, sometimes powerfully scented. While several excellent independent producers exist in this region, it is more a home to most of Armagnacs negociants. Plantings are dominated by Ugni Blanc and Colombard vines.

Tasting Notes: Deep brown - almost mahogany with deep golden hue. A wonderful sniff! Rich, warm and creamy sensations as the nose delivers mature aromas of fig, prune, toffee and spicy dried fruits, yet retaining a fresh and lively undertone. The palate is very creamy and plush, delivering warming, mouthfilling flavours that reflect the nose to perfection. Perfectly balanced, long aftertaste of prune, spice and toffee. A grand old Armagnac. 40.0% Alc./Vol.
