1978 Glenglassaugh Single Cask #1118/8 Port Hogshead Finish 36 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

The revamped Glenglassaugh distillery released the first batch of its single cask bottlings in April 2014, which included some exceptionally old expressions - up to 45 years old. “The response on this first batch release was fantastic, with connoisseurs worldwide delighted to get their hands on these aged, extraordinary malts,” said Alistair Walker, sales director. “We are therefore delighted to issue Batch 2 today which comprises another eight magnificent expressions – smooth, warm, characterful and sublime Highland whisky at its finest.”

The ‘single cask treasures’ were ‘uncovered’ from a warehouse at the Portsoy distillery, located just outside Speyside. All eight casks were selected by managing director and master distiller Billy Walker, and bottled in September 2015. Unfortunately, this year's Australian allocation is smaller than ever. On offer are several bottles from casks 2180 and 1118/8.

Distilled in 1978, whisky from cask #1118/8 reached 36 years of age and was finished in a Port hogshead. 276 bottles were made available. 43.6% vol
