1973 Darroze Domaine de la Poste 45 Year Old Tenareze Armagnac (700ml)

Produced from fifty year old Ugni Blanc vines maintained by Faget Loupit Claude on his 60 acre site in Tenareze. This grandfather brandy was finally bottled at natural strength in June 2018 after maturation in locally sourced barrels.

Tasting note: The flawless, burnished copper colour is a pleasure to behold. Early shellac blows off to reveal rancio, orange zest, nutty oak and cigar box; Remains on the drier side with 5 -10 minutes of air time encouraging attractive dried fruit notes (apricot, dates). Tannic but balanced in a full bodied, bittersweet attack, rallying at the finish in a wave of honey, dried fruits, coffee and cinnamon heat. Rebounds late. Classic. 47.7% Alc./Vol.
