"Mellow old wine... in its twilight years but still drinking very nicely". (Huon Hooke, Penfolds Red Wine Clinic, Sydney 1992)
Mint, berry and chocolate in evidence. Great power and length. Beautifully balanced, complete wine. A Grange of the first rank. (Ultimate Grange Experience, Nov. 1994)
Fully developed, smooth but relatively lighter finish on the palate. (Rewards of Patience, 1st ed., 1985)
"All but extremely fine bottles are well past their peak. Very rare curio and collector value." (Southcorp Wines, The Rewards of Patience, Fourth Edition, March 2000.)
