The fruit for this wine was sourced from seven different vineyards, all within Marlborough's Wairau and Waihopai valleys, and represents a cross section of soil types and micro climates, providing the winemaking team with a diverse range of aromas, flavours and textures. Fermentation took place predominantly in stainless steel tanks with a small portion (7%) barrel fermented in seasoned French oak barriques to add richness and depth to the palate. Each batch was kept separate through the fermentation process and only those batches of sufficient quality were blended to produce the finished wine.
Very pale straw colour with greenish tinge and water like hue. The nose displays typical Marlborough intensity with aromas of ripe gooseberry and passionfruit followed by some citrus and spice end notes. The palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of gooseberry, tropical fruits and citrus with some spicy back palate characters. Clean crisp refreshing finish with long aftertaste of gooseberry, spice and citrus.
