New Zealand’s 'Catalina' lying boats played a vital role across the South Pacific during and after World War II on long-range patrols, shipping
escorts as well as air sea rescue and transport duties. Although no longer in service, Catalinas still make special appearances, allowing people to see and fly in these iconic aircraft.
This wine marks a fitting tribute having recently been awarded the Air New Zealand trophy for the country's best Sauvignon Blanc!
Brilliant pale straw colour with water like hue. Pronounced aromas of grassy ripe & unripe gooseberry followed by passionfruit with some tropical fruit end notes displaying excellent intensity. The palate displays superb flavour concentration along with a mouthfilling texture. Ripe gooseberry flavours are intertwined with herbaceous grassy characters followed by some passionfruit and lemon – fresh, vibrant and flavour filled. Clean crisp finish with long gooseberry and passionfruit aftertaste.
