The Ata Rangi is typically a more refined example of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Bright very pale straw colour with a tinge of green and water like hue. The nose reveals aromas of ripe and unripe gooseberry followed by some grassy end notes. Flavours of ripe gooseberry, unripe passionfruit and spice are followed by some citrus and mineral characters. Clean crisp zesty acid finish, quite dry. Long aftertaste of passionfruit, citrus and spice. Not quite as intense as the superb 2008.
