This wine first came to prominence when US magazine ‘The Wine Spectator’ scored the 2004 vintage 96 points which was unprecedented and a remarkable achievement for a wine from anywhere in the world at such a miserly price point. Needless to say the wine sold out like hotcakes in a matter of hours. The just released 2008 vintage comes very close to matching that effort.
A superb example of a rich, voluptuously textured Barossa Shiraz that delivers phenomenal value for money
Opaque black crimson colour with deep dark red hue. Lifted aromas of super ripe blackberry and dark plum followed by some dark chocolate and confectionary notes. Opulent and rich with a plush fleshy texture the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of ripe dark plum, blackberry, chocolate bullets and confectionary followed by some spice. Velvet smooth tannins with long aftertaste of dark plum, dark chocolate, liquorice and spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2010-2013)
