Deep near opaque dark red colour with deep dark red mauve hue. The nose displays aromas of blackberry, ripe plum, liquorice and confectionary. Medium to full bodied in weight the palate exhibits flavours of ripe blackberry, dark chocolate and spice. Finishing a touch short it lacks the power and persistence of the districts top flight examples. There’s also a trace of bitterness present on the finish. Fine grained tannins with aftertaste of blackberry, chocolate and spice.
