Sanguine Estate was established
in 1997 by Tony Hunter and his family. Initially
16 acres were planted however by 2002, it had been
expanded to 55 acres. 50 acres is planted to Shiraz
with the remaining 5 acres planted to 8 different varieties
of red and white grapes. A new winery was commissioned
a couple of years ago with a crush capacity of 100 tonnes. The 2006 growing
season started with good winter rains and was followed by above average spring rains.
A warm hot summer was followed by a cool March and April which extended the ripening
period allowing the grapes to develop a classic Heathcote concentrated flavour profileSanguine's New Label Reflects New Attitude
& marks this Estate's Brilliant Return to Top Form Opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. Superb nose with aroma of blackberry,
vanilla, confectionary and liquorice. The palate is mouthfilling, very intense in
flavour and back in top form. Flavours of black pepper, spice and liquorice. Perfectly
balanced, fine grained tannins. Very long aftertaste of blackberry, black pepper and
plum. Cellar 4-5 years (2012-2013) Alc/Vol: 14.6%
