This wine is spectacularly concentrated and represents an exceptional expression of cooler climate Australian Shiraz. The profound 2003 Shiraz Emily’s Paddock includes 5% Cabernet Franc in the blend, and is an extraordinary wine meant for true connoisseurs of Australian wine. Aged completely in French oak (of which 23% was new), it offers a beautiful floral-scented perfume interwoven with aromas of blueberries, blackberries, asphalt, and subtle notes of wood as well as incense. Possessing great structure, compelling depth, remarkable intensity and richness, and a 60-second finish, this compelling wine of both power and elegance should hit its prime in 3-4 years, and last for two decades.
