STEVE HOFF is a sixth generation descendent of early Barossa settlers and his family have resided in the Barossa Valley for over 150 years. In 1984, Steve along with his wife Christine established Heritage Wines, initially buying in fruit before finally purchasing there own vineyard at Marananga. In 2002, Hoff has repeated the outstanding quality of the 2001 vintage with another classic Barossa Shiraz. TASTING NOTES: Totally opaque black purple colour with purple hue. Superb lifted nose filled with notes of violets, blackberry juice and dark chocolate. The palate delivers the expected generous voluptuous Barossa profile. Flavours of spice, blackberry, dark chocolate and vanilla. Excellent weight with fine grained dry tannins which are quite persistent but perfectly necessary to support the fruit. Very long aftertaste of spice, blackberry, dark chocolate, plum and liquorice. Cellar 4-5 years (2007-2008) Alc/Vol: 14.5%RATING: 95/100 VALUE: XXXXX/5
