An impressive Shiraz which has been produced from fruit which has been cropped at 2 tonnes per acre and matured for 24 months in new French oak. Wild yeasts have been used in the ferment.Totally opaque black crimson colour with deep purple hue. The nose is immediately recognisable as Heathcote. Aroma of blackcurrant, spice, cedar, liquorice allsorts and violets. The palate is beautifully structured with flavours of violet infusions, blackberry and cedar, followed by a white pepper back palate. The style is elegant, yet has considerable force. Fine, dry perfectly balanced chalky tannins. Long aftertaste of cedar, blackcurrant, confectionary and spice.
