Boschendal is one of the oldest wine producers in the new world, having a French viticultural heritage which dates back to 1685. Established by Jean Le Long a protestant Huguenot who fled France to escape religious persecution. The vineyards are situated at the gateway to the Franschoek Valley. 488 hectares are planted in an area regarded as one of the premier wine growing districts of the Cape.Brassy gold colour, showing both bottle development and oxidative handling. Subdued nose of hazelnut, biscuit and cashew. Full bodied, creamy texture with flavours of biscuit, cashew and yeast lees, followed by a touch of melon and honeycomb. Soft acid finish.
