An excellent commercial style. Bright crimson colour with mauve hue – not as intense as one might be expected from a 2001 vintage McLaren Vale red. Medium body. Aroma of spice, vanilla, blackcurrant and dark chocolate with a hint of blackberry as an end note. The wine delivers mass flavour appeal on the palate with generous flavours of liquorice, blackcurrant and spice. Excellent length. Fine grained soft tannins followed by an aftertaste of liquorice, spice and dark chocolate.
