Very deep crimson brick red colour. Aroma of vanilla, spice and plum followed by a violet end note. The palate has much better structural balance than the previous vintage, and a far more acceptable tannin structure than historic examples of the style (which needed 20 years to integrate). Flavours of plum, stewed fruit, cedar and liquorice emerge. Fine grained, perfectly balanced tannins – a refined elegant style. Aftertaste of plum, stewed fruit and lingering white pepper. Cellar 2-3 years (2006-2007) Alc/Vol: 14.5%Rating: 88/100Value: XXX/5
