New Zealand has stolen the march on Australia when it comes to Pinot Noir. The 2001 Ata Rangi again demonstrates the strength and clarity of flavour that New Zealand Pinot is capable of.
Bright crimson colour. Medium body. The nose is a superb sniff with aromas of strawberry, violets, cherry, spice and toasted oak emerging. The palate has excellent weight with a strong Pinot ‘power-wave’ that runs into an exceptionally long aftertaste. Mouthfilling flavours of cherry, liquorice and spice. Perfect balance with exceptional mouthfeel and aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years. (2006-2007)
