The Redesdale vineyard was established in 1982 with 8 acres being planted on the banks of the Campaspe River. Until recently, the grapes were sold to Eppalock Ridge, however, from 1999 onwards parcels of wine were made under the Redesdale label.Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. The nose has a range of delightful notes, some of which are quite unusual, yet very acceptable. Top notes of violets, spice and plum, quite perfumed and followed by notes of white chocolate, confectionary followed by a final note of mixed jelly beans (how unusual!). Fine grained tannins compliment the palate flavours of plum, dark chocolate and blackpepper. Excellent palate weight, with very peppery back palate persisting followed by a very long blackpepper, plum and vanilla aftertaste. Cellar 5-8 years (2008-2011) Alc/Vol: 13.0% RATING: 92/100 VALUE: XXXX/5
