The Emily’s Paddock is virtually unprocurable and even the odd bottle is well worth seeking out. This wine is a touch lighter in weight than the Georgia’s, but it must be emphasised that the notes were taken from an individual barrel, and not the final blend.Outstanding, crimson mauve colour. The nose is showing more complexity than the Georgia’s at this stage, with a distinct earthy component which rides over the blackcurrant and redcurrant notes with a spice end note. A superb sniff. The wine displays excellent weight and mouthfeel, with great concentration of flavour. The blackcurrant and spice flavours are enhanced by a touch of raspberry and cedar oak. Velvet smooth tannins, followed by very long aftertaste. Cellar 5 – 8 years. Stocks are extremely limited. RATING: 94/100 VALUE: XXXX/5
