Deep crimson colour, with crimson mauve hue. Delightful nose – with aroma of spice, truffle, new leather, blackcurrant and violets. The palate is lighter than the nose indicates, with flavours of sour cherry and stewed fruit emerging. Fine firmish tannins, followed by relatively high acidity – which seems to be present in Heathcote Shiraz grapes until they approach 14 – 14.5& Alc/Vol. Aftertaste of sour cherry, spice and blackpepper.
